Our Terracotta
Artistic terracotta is the most authentic expression of the cotto tradition, where artisanal expertise meets aesthetic research. Every creation comes from the processing of natural raw materials and attention to detail, giving life to unique elements capable of enhancing both indoor and outdoor spaces. Terracotta floors, wall coverings, and decorative artifacts thus become the protagonists of projects that combine beauty, quality, and durability, elegantly reinterpreting the heritage of Italian ceramic tradition.

The Terracotta Making Process
- The Clay: Everything begins with the earth. It is ground and sifted; as stones and impurities are removed, only the right material remains, ready to take shape.
- The Blend: Water is added to the earth, mixing until they become one.
- The Rest: Then comes silence. The clay rests, becoming docile and ready to be guided.
- The Shaping: The moment for hands arrives. Using timeless techniques—the potter’s wheel, the mold, the hand-shaping—the material takes the desired form, and every gesture leaves its mark.
- The Drying: Next is the wait for drying. It must be complete and total, because fire does not forgive moisture.
- The Firing: It is time for the kiln: at least 36 hours at around 1020 degrees, followed by a slow drop in temperature that no one can rush. This is where terracotta finds its color—a natural, unforced hue that was already inside the earth and that only fire can reveal.
- The Finish: Upon leaving the kiln, the final gesture is water: the terracotta pieces are soaked, as if in greeting.
- Ready: Then they are ready. Ready to leave, ready to be displayed in all their beauty.
Terracotta Colouring
In addition to the typical red coloration of terracotta—due to the iron oxide present in the clay—all our vases can be made in five alternative color variants.
During the processing phase, coloring oxides are added to give the finished product a specific shade. This allows the items to seamlessly blend with indoor furnishings as well.
