CottoCaldo

Living and heating with CottoCaldo

With our CottoCaldo underfloor heating system, it’s easy to make your home a pleasant place to live.
Thanks to the grooves in the panels, a VPE or copper pipe is run through them; by circulating hot water (max. 25°C), this heats the air in a completely natural way, thereby eliminating unpleasant phenomena such as draughts, overheated rooms, cold feet, etc., which are frequently encountered with other heating systems.
COTTOCALDO is easy to install.
The various grooved elements are laid on the screed, over which an insulating layer has been previously installed. The VPE or copper pipework is laid in the grooves of the COTTO CALDO elements, and the terracotta floor is then laid. The pipework is connected to the home’s existing heating system; the boiler pumps hot water (max. 25°) into the floor, heating it in a pleasant and natural way.
It breathes and regulates humidity
Terracotta is a living, breathable material that allows heat to rise to the surface without causing condensation in the room.
This phenomenon, however, occurs with industrial materials that do not breathe and consequently lead to mould and damp problems. Thanks to its hygroscopic and hygrothermal properties, which regulate indoor humidity, a terracotta floor creates a healthy and pleasant environment.

COTTO CALDO, loads of benefits for guaranteed wellbeing!

  • Significant energy savings.
  • Slim profile: the COTTOCALDO system and the floor are only 50–55 mm thick.
  • Excellent energy utilisation; the heating pipes are positioned just 10–15 mm below the floor surface.
  • Excellent heat distribution: low conduction temperatures. Floor surface temperature of approximately 25°C.
  • Optimal room temperature thanks to the system’s efficiency.
  • Stress-induced cracks are highly unlikely due to COTTOCALDO’s high coefficient of thermal expansion.
  • No risk of twisting or warping.
  • Large areas can be installed without intermediate expansion joints.
  • Perimeter expansion joints are required (the floor must, in any case, be laid diagonally).
  • Extremely easy to install on a closed building site without the need for specialised equipment. First, the soil is ground to remove stones and impurities. Then the soil is mixed with water and left to settle.
